Best Product- Never Spill your Fuel Again!

by Des Ryan on 28 Nov 2007
Fuel Whistle SW
We've now learned to throw a bucket of water on our teak deck BEFORE we start to refill the fuel tanks - just in case it spurts back or overflows and the diesel is spilt on the deck - or worse, into the sea. But now there's a better solution!

The Green Marine Fuel Whistle is a unique and simple device to stop the inadvertent spilling of fuel.

Easily installed in most boats, the Fuel Whistle is inserted into the fuel tank vent line. While the tank is being filled a ‘whistling’ sound is produced by the Fuel Whistle. The sound is loud enough to be heard from any point on the boat. It will be audible in a strong breeze or with any normal surrounding sounds. As the tank approaches full, the sound turns to a ‘warble’ and when completely full it immediately stops. This is the signal to stop the fueling process BEFORE any spill occurs.

Specs:
Overall Length 3.75'(95mm) Installed Length 2'(50mm) Width 2'(50mm)

Installation:
The 5/8' fuel vent line is cut near the fuel tank and the Fuel Whistle is inserted into the vent line with the arrows facing the hull vent and clamped (clamps included).
The Fuel Whistle should be oriented within 45 degrees of vertical to allow for proper drainage. It can be held in place with 2 stainless steel screws (included) inserted into the molded mounting ears to secure the correct orientation.

While it is designed to fit all boats with 5/8' vent line, the Fuel Whistle can be adapted to fit lines up to 1 1/2'. Impervious to diesel, gasoline, and fuel additives, this innovative product will help you protect the environment while also avoiding embarrassing stares next time you fill up.

Comes ready to install. All you need is a knife and a screwdriver.

The Fuel Whistle sells for around US$30 - to find out how to purchase go to the Green Marine website
