BIA Victoria welcomes two new Board Directors

by BIA Media Release on 23 Nov 2007
Mark Bradley and Peter Cleland - BIA Victoria SW
The Boating Industry Association of Victoria Board has welcomed two new Directors to the BIA Board.

BIA President Gordon Howlett welcomed Mark Bradley and Peter Cleland to the Board, where they represent the Clubs, Services and Associations Division and the Wholesale, Manufacturers and Distribution Division respectively.

Mark Bradley is CEO of Club Marine, Australia's largest marine insurance company, representing a community of more than 150,000 boat owners.

Mark is also Publisher of Australia's highest circulation marine lifestyle magazine (Club Marine Magazine), is a member of the Insurance Council of Australia's Marine Committee and the National Marine Safety Committee's Industry Advisory Council.

Tertiary qualified in Economics and Law, Workplace Assessment and Training, Mark has a broad range of sales, marketing, training and general management experience in the insurance, finance and automotive industries.

Having grown up around boats, today Mark enjoys fishing, sailing and boating with his wife and three young children in his spare time, and is committed to working with the industry, government and media to promote safe and accessible boating for all Victorians.

Peter Cleland is managing director and co-owner of Bar Crusher Boats, which has established a strong reputation for the design, performance and quality of its plate aluminium boats in its seven years of operation.

With his brother Warren, he established Bar Crusher because they saw an opportunity to do a better job of building and marketing plate boats.

Peter has always been around boats since his childhood and has had more than 20 years experience of manufacturing in Australia and Asia.

A quiet achiever by nature, he sees his role on the Board as contributing to policy more than process in order to help give clear direction to the endeavours of the staff.

The Board of the BIA, a not-for-profit, member-based organisation, comprises Gordon Howlett (President), Irene Hoe and Mark Bradley representing Clubs, Services and Associations; Darren Finkelstein and Keith Corr representing Boat Dealers; Rod Smith and Chris Warner representing Chandlery, Accessories and Equipment; and David Peter Heyes (Vice-President), Michael Blair and Peter Cleland representing Wholesale, Manufacturers and Distribution.
