Kerry Klinger wins the J80 NA's again

by Lynn Fitzpatrick, US Editor, Sail-World.com on 16 Nov 2007
Kerry Klinger won the J80 North Americans for the second consecutive time and the third time in his career. This year's crew of Lifted included Doug Lynn, Neil Bresnan and John Bowden. The crew of Lifted got off to a shaky start during Friday's racing with a TLE.ZPF. As with seven of the other competitors in the 33-boat fleet, they were over early in one of the four general recalls and tried to sail through shifty light air with lots of holes.

Only six boats finished before the time limit expired, and Lifted was not one of them. Lifted's finishes improved over the weekend and they finished off the seven-race series with four bullets and won the regatta by nine points. Bruno Pasquenelli and Glenn Darden and their Texan crews were second and third with 29 and 31 points, respectively. Eastport Yacht Club of Annapolis, MD hosted the regatta.
