Oceantalk bridge telegraph reads All Ahead Full

Award-winnng instrumentation from Simrad will impress Australian boat owners, power and sail. Designated the IS20 range, the new technology was released at the recent Genoa International Boat Show and according to observers 'generated huge levels of interest.'

Industry stalwart Robyn Kidd, managing director of Oceantalk, appreciates timing, and is convinced his company’s appointment as a regional distributor of Simrad technology could not have come at a better time.

'Simrad’s timing on the release of all-new and world leading instrumentation suits us admirably and I stand convinced that Australian boat owners will be as enthusiastic as I was when seeing this new technology in action,' he declared.

'You could say we’re running before the wind and using maximum horsepower,' he joked.

Designated the IS20 range, the new technology was released at the recent Genoa International Boat Show and according to observers ‘generated huge levels of interest.’

According to Robyn Kidd, Australian boat owners, power and sail, will be equally enthusiastic when they see the remarkable capabilities and value of the range.

Featuring four analogue and two digital instrument heads, all based on the SimNet NMEA 2000 data bus system for ease of installation and integration, the hero product is the IS20 GRAPHIC.

It not only provides highly accurate real-time graphical representation of instrument data connecting directly to smart sensors on SimNet, it also acts as a multifunction instrument that can shift quickly between display styles, including large digital readouts, detailed multifunction readouts, multiple data types on one screen and simplified graphical representations.

And it can also operate as a multifunction repeater for other products via SimNet.

'As you could imagine, I’ve seen a lot of instruments in my time and this simply has to be one of the most intelligently designed and versatile units I have ever encountered,' Robyn Kidd said.

'Equally impressive is the IS20 COMBI, an all in-one unit offering combined speed, depth, temperature, trip log and passage of time data. As a stand alone instrument or as a first step into the world of marine electronics this is the one. It can be the start of a system as large as required, such is its incredible flexibility. Sailboat owners will also appreciate its low power usage. LCD colour screens might look pretty, but on an extended system they can leave sailboats with a flat battery as quick as you like,' he added.

All IS20 instruments are easy to install as there is no need to access the inside of consoles, dashboards or masts.
With thin cables for easy routing and the simplicity of SimNet’s plug-and-play technology, installation is fast and inexpensive.

An extensive range of accurate and reliable transducers for the IS20 family is also available, including a single multi-transducer for speed, depth and temperature.

From any angle, this Simrad instrumentation stands as award winning technology.
