Sea Ray weekend Rendezvous Great fun

by Emma Lay on 2 Nov 2007
2007 Sea Ray Circle - Andrew Short Marine’s 2007 Sea Ray Rendezvous Emma Lay
Last weekend saw a flotilla of some of the worlds finest marine craft assemble in the Port Hacking’s ‘South West Arm’. It was a perfect setting for the 42 assembled Sea Ray luxury craft with the beautiful Royal National Park surrounding the circle of Sea Ray’s.

The owners enjoyed a spectacular weekend of Andrew Short Marine’s hospitality. 'We like to help people get as much use and fun as they can from their boats' said Andrew Short. 'An event like this takes a lot of work to organize but seeing how much enjoyment everybody gets out of the experience makes it really worthwhile.' New to this seasons rendezvous was the magnificent 55 Sundancer recently arrived in Australia and forming the centre piece of the grand Sea Ray circle.

Sea Ray owners were treated to a unique ownership experience surrounded by their fellow boat owners and their families. The kids were kept busy with activities including boat races through the day, fishing competitions and the hilarious Mopsy the clown. The day also featured a helicopter fly over and coverage by the crew from 'The Boatique' which goes to air on Channel Nine at 4.30pm on the 18th November. Guests were treated to a delightful gourmet cooking demonstration by our very own Chef Sasja Van Vonderen from one of Sydney’s best kept dining secrets the Plonk Beach Café restaurant at Fergusons Boatshed, The Spit, Mosman.

Everyone from the Sea Ray family enjoyed the informative hints and tips provided by NSW Maritime, Raymarine, Navman and some of Andrew Short Marines talented staff. As the sun began to set the live band Echolalia took to the floating stage to entertain everyone into the evening. After the sensational seafood dinner, guests were treated to a boating trivia competition with the smarty’s taking home a raft of prizes.

The next morning guests were treated to a BBQ banquet breakfast followed by more fun on the water including Sea Doo rides for all thanks to Australian Powersports. One couple who have only recently taken delivery of their new Sundancer said 'we have had a great weekend, Andrew and his staff have thought of everything even setting up our own Sea Ray FM to keep everyone informed and involved, I was delighted to wake up and find the Sunday papers had been delivered to our boat and we have had the chance to make lots of new friends who we can share our boating lifestyle with.'
