Changi Sailing Club, Singapore, is home to the prestigious Ambassadors Cup, held in October for the last eight successive years. It is a phenomenal success every year, and 2007 was no exception.
Feeder races were organized to bring boats to Changi from Raffles Marina, Sentosa Cove and RSYC, and this year the Club welcomed visiting yachts with cocktails, Brewerkz beer and free flow wine all weekend. Generous sponsors, 47 boats out on the water, steady pleasant breezes and glorious weather made for a perfect day. During the evening, sailors and distinguished guests dined and danced to Latino music under gently swaying palm trees at the waters edge. They have all vowed to come back again next year.
The winner of the Ambassadors Cup Challenge Trophy was HE Paul Madden, the British High Commissioner, and family on board John Ramsdens Elan 434, Sofa So Good. In Division II (non-Ambassadorial guests), the winners were Singapores Ministry of Foreign Affairs staff, competing for the very first time, on board Kung Siang Yos beautiful 44 cruising ketch, Star Ferry.
