42nd Womens Victorian Coffee Urn Results

Seventeen teams from NEISA, MCSA, MAISA, and SAISA raced Harvard's Larks on the Charles River this weekend. Just think of all of the college sailing talent up in Cambridge this weekend with the Schell and the Victorian Urn being sailed simultaneously!

Yale's Jane Macky, Marla Menninger, Kate Hagemann and Liz Brimm won the 12-race regatta by nearly 50 points. Hagemann and Brimm were low point in B Division by a nice margin, while Macky and Menninger were third in tightly contested A Division, only 3 points out of the lead. Harvard, Dartmouth, Brown and Tufts who were 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th in the regatta to teams that had already qualified or were from other districts, qualified to participate in the Women's Atlantic Coast Championships in 420's at Yale on November 10-11th. With berths for eight teams from New England, it looks as if Yale, URI, BC and BU had already qualified for the Women's ACC's. These teams will come up against seven MAISA and three SAISA women's teams.

Regatta highlights:

12 total races on w-l 1 1/2 and 2 courses. Southwest wind Saturday and a nice North westerly on Sunday. Thanks to alumni Emily Nielsen, Matt Ocwieja and Matthew Knowles for their help. Congrats to Yale for winning and Harvard, Dartmouth, Brown and Tufts for qualifying for Women's ACCs.
