Congrats to Ethan Bixby returning to his roots in wining the recent 505 North Americans. Ethan won the 505 Worlds back in 1981. Ethan also humbly corrected our Hall-of-Fame list. Ethan has won five various big boat Worlds as a professional trimmer and sail program manager from 1997 to 2006. I'm guessing Doug McKeige and some other Jumbos were at the 505 NA's along with one undergrad, Reeve Dunne.
Congrats to Silver Panda for another great championship, this week winning the Hinman again. Nearly 20 Jumbos were there including old favorite teams WHishbone, Amateur Hour and some younger teams as well as three undergrads crewing. Perhaps I'll see a few of you at the Snow and Satisfaction, my 21st time there.
Happy fall,
Ken
P.S. Thanks to Lindsay Shanholt'05 and the '05 team for the camera. It's working! Thanks to Reid Van Gorder'04 for continuing to run our home regattas when I cannot. The parents loved watching the Lane Trophy. Thanks to Emily Randall'07 for judging and to the class of '07 for the binoculars. I'll be coaching the Urn live this weekend while
coaching the Schell with these powerful binoculars and cell phone at the same time.
