Quintrex expands its stern drive range.

Stern drive power from MerCruiser and the Quintrex 560 Spirit make a perfect match. - 560 Spirit Cruiser SW
Riding off the success of its 560 and 590 Freedom stern drive-powered models, Quintrex has added for new cabin models with MerCruiser stern drive power, the 560 and 590 Spirit Cruiser and the 560 and 590 Spirit Fisher.

As the model designations imply, these are craft designed specifically for cruising and fishing and all are built on the legendary Quintrex Millennium Hull and Flared Bow combinations.

Damien Duncan, Quintrex national sales and marketing manager, said the popularity of the stern drive engine aboard the bowrider models was a natural step in leading to the introduction of stern drive power to the cabin range.

'We have enjoyed considerable success with the stern drive bowrider range and by introducing this power configuration to the cabin boats we can now offer the comfort and versatility combined with the sleek lines of the stern drive transom,' he said.

'The 560 and 590 Spirit Cruiser models feature the same transom configuration as the bowriders, but for the 560 and 590 Spirit Fishers we have introduced a fishing friendly transom design.

'It incorporates the boarding platform and a cushioned seat with one-quarter folding rear lounges and back rests on either side to open up the rear of the boat for anglers,' he explained.

Packaged with MerCruiser’s proven 3.0-litre 135hp engine, the 560 models each boast an 85-litre fuel tank, measure out at 6.44-metres with 2.38-metre beams and can cater comfortable for seven on board.

The larger 590 models offer an engine option; standard power is the MerCruiser 3.4-litre 190hp engine, but for those wanting to get to the fish faster the optional 4.3-litre MPI 220hp MerCruiser is available.

At 6.93-metres overall and with a 120-litre fuel tank, the 590 models can safely accommodate eight on board.
Standard features across all four models include completely decked out cabins with cabin lining, windows, bunks, cushions and backrests, VHF radio, Lowrance ‘sounder, front and rear underfloor stowage, two rod holders, reversible seats, a rear ladder and painted hull with graphics.

The Spirit Fishers are ready to fish, with cutting boards and live bait tank as standard.

For the dedicated anglers, fishing options include aluminium rocket launchers and burley buckets are available and all models can include optional covers, clears, side curtains and entertainment systems.

Retail prices appear highly competitive, from $42,926 for the 560 models to $49,889 for the 590s.

All are available with the ‘Instant Boating’ package that includes a Quintrex trailer, safety equipment and boat and trailer registration.
