Owned by world renowned sailor Iain Murray AM, Azzura Marine’s boat building facility in Nowra, New South Wales, is expanding its range of yachts and is looking for highly skilled boat builders to join their rapidly growing team. Involved in the construction of production and custom sailing and motor yachts, the company is aiming to create vacancies throughout the facility including Boat Builders, Clean Room Laminators, Cabinet Makers, Leading Hands, Mechanical Fitters, Supervisors and Project Managers. The hope is that these exciting new projects will attract skills from local residents and from further afield.

Factory General Manager Richard Stanning commented that; “as well as being keen to talk to experienced Boat Builders, we are also in discussions about developing training programs to attract more apprentices to the company. We are particularly concerned with passing on the vast knowledge of our experienced boat builders to a new generation.”

Shane Mitchell, OH&S and Training Manager for the group was instrumental in seeing Azzura Marine’s facility in the Gold Coast, Queensland, reach the regional finals of the prestigious Queensland Training Awards for Large Employers. He wants to see the facility in Nowra replicate the success of the site up North. “It is essential that we set our sights high on educating our workforce and investing in training. Apprentices are invaluable to the business, the wider community and to the future of the boat building industry and we want to see more of them work their way up our ranks.

If you are interested, send your CV with cover letter to info@azzuramarine.com or by post to Azzura Marine (Nowra) Pty Ltd, Attention: Richard Stanning, 4 Cumberland Avenue, South Nowra, NSW, 2541
