Pippa Wilson SW
Team GBR Olympic competitor, Pippa Wilson, will be at the upcoming launch of the Voller Energy Emerald Yacht to be held at London’s St Katharine’s Dock on Thursday.
Pippa Wilson, bow-woman for Sarah Ayton in the Olympic Yngling Class, was recently selected as a member of the GBR Team for the Beijing Games by the UK’s Royal Yachting Association.
Pippa Wilson and her fellow team mates Sarah Ayton and Sarah Webb, who won their Class at the Athens Games back in 2004, are current Yngling World Champions after winning their Worlds at the beginning of July in Portugal, going on to claim victory in the Qingdao Test Event.
This outstanding team has been shortlisted for the prestigious ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Award recognized as the ultimate accolade a sailor can receive.
Pippa will be on hand to help Voller Energy launch their new Emerald Yacht, a Beneteau 411 that will be competing in the upcoming ARC Rally sailing a 2700 nautical mile passage from Gran Canaria to St. Lucia.
The Emerald Yacht will have Voller Energy’s new ‘Emerald Fuel Cell System’ installed for the crossing. This will be the first yacht in the World to cross the Atlantic with a fuel cell system running off LPG, propane or Calor Gas.
The 1kW system manufactured in Basingstoke, UK, is unobtrusive, environmentally friendly – cutting toxic emissions by an estimated sixty times – quiet and light weight.
Voller Energy is aiming to be the number one energy provider in the marine market, providing a reliable alternative to the traditional diesel generator.
Fuel Cells
Fuel cells work by converting the chemical energy in hydrogen to electrical energy. Hydrogen is combined with oxygen from the air across a special membrane. The outputs from the reaction are electricity, heat and water. No toxic emissions are produced.
Voller Energy
Voller Energy Group PLC (LSE: VLR) is one of the first companies in the world from which you can buy fuel cell systems. Voller is a developer and manufacturer of portable fuel cell systems that produce the electrical energy you need but without the toxic emissions that contribute towards global warming and climate change. Founded in 2002, Voller Energy has built considerable expertise in fuel cell systems technology for use as battery chargers and mobile generators.
