Jeroboam Ca'Nova Wins Swan 45 Class Med Circuit

by PR on 29 Sep 2007
Vittorio Codecasa’s Jeroboam Ca’Nova wins Swan 45 Med Circuit 2007 SW

Last weekend’s Audi Invitational Regatta, organised by the Yacht Club Porto Rotondo, was the last event of the season in the official Swan 45 Class Mediterranean Circuit. Vittorio Codecasa’s Jeroboam Ca’Nova emerged as this year’s overall Med Circuit Champion with second and third places going to DSK Comifin and Atlantica Racing respectively.

The overall circuit leader board takes into account results from a total of twenty races from four regattas: Pasquavela in Santo Stefano, the Spring Regatta in Portofino, Rolex Capri Sailing Week and the Audi Invitational in Sardinia.

Mr. Codecasa, 2007 Swan 45 Mediterranean Circuit Champion and Swan 45 Class President, commented, 'It was a closely fought competition between Jeroboam and my friend Danilo Salsi’s DSK with only a few points between us after twenty races. The events which made up this year’s Swan 45 Med circuit have been highly competitive, presenting a range of racing conditions at spectacular venues along with a sociable atmosphere between crew and owners on and off shore.'

The 2007 Swan 45 Mediterranean Circuit has featured impressive performances from yachts across the competitive Med fleet with different crews excelling in the varying conditions. The final circuit champion, Jeroboam Ca’Nova, showed a consistently high level of performance in all of the circuit events: winning Pasquavela, coming fourth at Rolex Capri Sailing Week and again at the Spring Regatta in Portofino, and fifth at the Audi Invitational.

Some of the most competitive performances came from Carlo Perrone’s Atlantica Racing, who won both Rolex Capri Sailing Week and the Audi Invitational, and DSK Comifin, who won the Spring Regatta.

Mr. Codecasa added, 'After the great success of the events in 2007, with as many as nineteen yachts in competition, we look forward to next year’s International Swan 45 Class programme as scheduled and a new Mediterranean Circuit which will include: the Memorial Giorgio Falck Regatta in Scarlino, Rolex Capri Sailing Week, Copa del Rey in Palma, the Rolex Swan Cup in Porto Cervo and VII Trofeo Cesar Manrique in Lanzarote.'
