Meridien Marina’s $500 million redevelopment of Horizon Shores at Jacobs Well is on track with the first stage of the marina and industrial precincts now complete.

Since work began in 2005, 132 new state-of-the-art marina berths and 2000m2 of industrial space have been built. All but several berths have been sold in the first stage of the marina, known as North Haven, and the industrial shed is already fully leased by a number of significant marina-based businesses.

Meridien Marinas CEO Warwick Bible said the development is due for completion within the next several years.

'Everything is going according to plan and we are very pleased with the amount of progress that has been made,' Mr Bible said.

Work has now begun on Stage Two of the marina and industrial precinct and, when completed in mid 2008, will add another 100 wet berths and 5800m2 of industrial shed space.

Horizon Shores will become Australia’s largest marina making it a one-stop-shop for all boating and recreational needs, boasting 1,350 wet berths, dry storage for 1000 vessels, a Marina Village with waterfront cafes and restaurants, a yacht club, specialty retail outlets and a Marina Emporium showcasing all things boating.

Only minutes away from Jumpinpin Bar, the Gold Coast Seaway and Stradbroke Island, and only 35 km from the Gold Coast, the area will continue to attract the attention of tourists and boaties from South East Queensland and Australian wide.
