Murdoch Wins Silver for NZ in Olympic Laser Worlds

Andrew Murdoch (NZL) rounds the windward mark on the opening day of Sail Auckland 2006 SailAuckland.org.nz
In an outstanding result for New Zealand Olympic squad Laser sailor Andrew Murdoch has claimed the Silver Medal at the 2007 ISAF World Championships just sailed at Cascais in Portugal
This also qualifies New Zealand for an Olympic berth in the Laser class at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
In an exciting final medal race Andrew clinched second place to give him the Silver medal overall.
Speaking from Cascai at the end of the final race Andrew was estatic with his final result.' I am very happy to have qualified New Zealand for the Olympics next year. It was an awesome regatta with extremely competitive racing. I cannot express my thanks enough for the assistance I have had from Yachting New Zealand, SPARC, Hyundai Pinnacle programme and Cathay Pacific Airlines'
Andrew returns to New Zealand for further training prior to the pre Olympic Regatta at China next month.
Andrew is a member of Pinnacle, the sports mentor program backed by Hyundai.
