OWNASHIP has purchased its first yacht – a Bavaria 42 Cruiser – from International Marine Brokers.

OWNASHIP is a family run business based in Auckland and the idea grew out of the family’s experience of owning and maintaining various types of watercraft over the years. They loved being on the water but grew tired of the time spent in maintenance and cleaning.

Casting about for the very best solution they created OWNASHIP - an excitingly different concept of shared and managed boat ownership at a fraction of the cost of owning a boat yourself.

OWNASHIP’s unique system means that with today’s busy lifestyle you maximise quality time on the water and waste none on maintenance. Your boat will always be clean and serviced to a 5 Star standard – ready for you to walk onto and go sailing.

So, how does it work?
You buy a share in a new boat, equivalent to 10% of the new boat price. Only ten shares are sold per boat, thus giving you 33 guaranteed days aboard each year. If you want more, you are welcome to purchase more shares. The share is yours to do what you want with - sell, trade-in, leave in a will etc.

As all boat owners know, on-going maintenance and marina fees are unavoidable expenses. OWNASHIP take complete responsibility for managing all aspects of maintenance, cleaning and berthage, ensuring that your boat is kept in tip top condition and ready to use at a moment’s notice. OWNASHIP charge each share holder a minimal yearly management fee for this service which has the advantage of maximizing your time on the water and minimizing hassle.

An online booking system enables you to see instantly if your boat is available for when you want to go sailing. Once you’ve booked, OWNASHIP will ensure that the boat is ready for you to walk onto and sail away.

Who are OWNASHIP?
They are a family run business based in Auckland with 30 years of successful business ventures behind them and substantial assets in both NZ and offshore. They have enlisted the services of leading professionals in the legal, accounting and banking sectors to ensure that the rights and investments of boat-share-holders are protected.

The Bavaria 42 Cruiser
The Bavaria 42 Cruiser is an ideal OWNASHIP boat - it is a fast, roomy, comfortable yacht that can happily take 6 people as well as being easily handled by one. A state of the art in-mast furling system by Swedish company, Selden, makes the boat much easier to handle and does not in any way impair performance.

The saloon is spacious and with 3 double cabins and 2 heads, there is plenty of room for friends or family. The Standard Specifications of a Bavaria yacht are extremely comprehensive (http://www.2bavaria-yachtbau.com) and the Bavaria factory in Germany is one of the most modern production facilities for sailing yachts in the world. Using the latest manufacturing techniques, computer-aided processes and highly skilled craftsmen the factory produces over 3000 yachts a year.

With 16 Bavaria 42s already in New Zealand, you are buying into the most popular model being raced and cruised on our waters.

So to sum up - with ever increasing demands on our time and finances, OWNASHIP is a very practical and cost effective way to experience the joys of boat ownership without any of the hassles.

As OWNASHIP still have a limited number of shares available in the new Bavaria 42, contact them now to ensure you’ll be out on the water in your own boat next summer!
