Dart SB3 in Australia SW
Meywin is to introduce the Dart range of Sailboats in Australia and this will include the Tony Castro designed SB3 sportsboat which is currently enjoying huge success around the world.
Large competitive fleets have developed quickly with one of the many highlights from 2006 being the 90 boat fleet at Skandia Cowes week (the largest fleet at the event). The event for 2007 has already received 97 entries, with numbers being capped at 100.
Oceanburo has been the first appointed Distributor for Dart products in Australia and has already ordered 20 SB3’s.
Rod Jones Director said 'The SB3 is a boat that I had to become involved in, we are looking forward to developing the class in Australia and start joining in the fun that the rest of the world have been experiencing in this strict one design class'
Due to territory restriction the SB3 will be sold under the Dart brand name as the Dart SB3 and will follow the strict one design philosophy. Early indications are that the boat is set to enjoy the same success as in Europe.
The SB3 was displayed at the Sanctuary Cove International boat show in May and received significant interest from many Keelboat sailors. All this indicates that the SB3 will be enjoyed as much in Australia as it has been in Europe.
Tom Rosoman, Dart Sailboats, said 'We have some very exciting plans for the SB3 and I am looking forward to adding to the success of the boat!'
