The 2007 NZ Optimist Representative Team has listed a 'keel mounted' Emirates Team NZ signed Buzzy Bee on Trade Me for auction.
It is the second of two only, and was signed by the Emirates Team New Zealand sailing team, last month.
The first unmounted bee sold at the Gala auction at Royal NZ Yacht Squadron for $600.00. This is a great chance to own a unique America's Cup collectable from the winner of the 2007 Louis Vuitton Cup.
To bid see: www.trademe.co.nz/Antiques-collectables/Other/auction-106289217.htm?p=3
For overseas viewers, Trade Me is an online auction and sale website similar to E-Bay, to lodge a bid you have to register with Trade Me and you are away. (however we've just discovered only NZl or Australian residents can register)
The funds for all fundraising by the Optimists go to support several teams competing in international and world championship regattas. To ensure development each sailor is allowed to attend only one regatta, so a broad base of young sailors get their first taste of international competition each year.
