Stenhouse takes Musto Skiff World title

by Media/SW on 24 Jun 2007
Britain's Richard Stenhouse took the title at the first Musto Skiff World Championship held at Fraglia Vela Malcesine on Lake Garda.

An excellent entry of 86 competitors from twelve countries including long distance travellers from Australia, New Zealand and the US enjoyed typical Garda conditions.

Stenhouse was put under pressure by Ian Turnbull (GBR) and Ian Trotter (GBR) in the early races, but took control the second day and after discarding two, third places, was never out of first or second place.

Turnbull finished in second overall and Trotter in third. Ian Renilson (GBR) took fourth and Richard Perkins (GBR) fifth. The first none GBR competitor was the Spanish sailor Pablo Arandia in ninth overall.
