CYCA launches Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Raffle

Cruising Yacht Club of Australia today announced the launch of its annual Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Trusts Raffle with the major prize, a trip for two to be part of the 2008 CYCA Bonifacio Yacht Rally, valued at over $15,000.

The SOLAS Trusts were established following the 1998 Sydney Hobart Yacht Race and to date they have donated more than $300,000 Australia wide to support those organisations that would come the aid of all sailors, whether they be cruising or racing, should they strike trouble at sea. The Trusts most recent donation was to Volunteer Marine Rescue Southport with a cheque for almost $13,000 being presented by SOLAS board member Matt Allen following the Audi Sydney Southport Yacht Race in March.

SOLAS Raffle tickets are now on sale from CYCA Reception for $5 each and can also be purchased by downloading a credit card authorisation form from www.cyca.com.au/newsDetail.asp?key=3242

To be eligible for the Major Prize Draw, a minimum $50 worth of tickets must be purchased. All prizes will be drawn on Friday 14 September at the Quiet Little Drink function at the CYCA.

The prize includes return economy class flights to Olbia (Sardinia) via Rome and a

a twin cabin on a share boat for 14 nights during the 2008 CYCA Bonifacio Yacht Rally, a seductive mix of Italian Sardinia and French Corsica, racing and cruising the Straits of Bonifacio in September next year.
