NZL 92 takes emphatic win over USA 98

Valencia, May 9 2007

Emirates Team New Zealand scored an emphatic 1 min 34 sec win over BMW Oracle racing today to finish top of the leader board after both round robins.

And as top challengers, Emirates Team New Zealand can choose its opponent in the semi-finals that start on Monday.

It was the match everyone was waiting for! The two teams heading the leader board going head-to-head. The money was on Oracle to win.

NZL 92 finished Round Robin 2 unbeaten. USA 98 was beaten twice – by China and New Zealand.

Member’s Bar open from 11am for the BEST view in town!

All the power boats are being craned in between E & F piers.  The MRX’s are being moved behind the club to make way for these speed machines!

(That means parking between D & E piers will be blocked off – just on the marina side). Westhaven Drive will be busy on Saturday!!!

Get down early and get your seat on the Members’ Bar deck!!!

Westhaven Marina – Gates closed on Saturday

Please note that because of the increased number of public at the Westhaven Marina on Saturday all security gates will be closed to ensure the best possible safety of the boats in the marina.

Squadron Annual Prizegiving – this Saturday

Over 220 prize winners are booked in for Saturday’s Annual Prizegiving. 

It’s a fantastic evening of fun & celebrations!

Tickets are still available, and can be purchased from Reception for $49 per person.

Store News, we are selling LOADS of Emirates Team New Zealand gear and of course with the boys doing so well we expect these sales to get even bigger!  So get in quick to show your support for Team New Zealand!  Emirates Team New Zealand Calanders are still available, which are filled with bright action packed photos of the team.  We have a wide range of shorts availible at this time, for all of our members heading to warmer climates over the next few months, most stores are no longer selling shorts as it is the wrong season, so come on down to the squadron store today to get some hard wearing attractive shorts! 

Gulf Serviettes are back, just $7.95 each.  These have been incredibly popular with a huge demand, so get in quick before the all sell out again.  Perfect for entertainning!

Blue Chip New Zealand Presentation
