Luna Rossa vs Emirates Team New Zealand, Day 11, Louis Vuitton Cup Luna Rossa Challenge /Bruno Cocozza

Today is the final day of racing in Round Robin One of the Louis Vuitton Cup and with respect to the leaderboard, the competition is coming down to the wire, with Flights 10 and 11 offering points that will be critical to determining final positions.

The matches today involve tasty contests up and down the leaderboard. At the top, Emirates Team New Zealand is scheduled to face BMW ORACLE Racing in Flight 11. The American challenger begins the day undefeated and has looked very strong in all of its matches so far. The Kiwis, in contrast, have dropped races to two Italian teams, falling to Mascalzone Latino-Capitalia and Luna Rossa.

Desafío Español and Luna Rossa are also scheduled to meet in Flight 11. The teams begin the day in equal third place, with 15 points. This match could determine who finishes ahead.

Mascalzone Latino faces Luna Rossa and Victory Challenge – two wins could vault the Latin Rascals into the top three.

But the Swedes will be tough, looking to perhaps move into the top five with a win.

Further down, +39 Challenge has yet to score a point, but it has matches against United Internet Team Germany and China Team.

The battle against the Germans will be a match for pride of place for both teams. China Team isn’t expected to race today after suffering damage on Thursday.
