Light air and a tough adversary such as Emirates Team New Zealand: another difficult day for +39 Challenge, that lost the match against the Kiwis. But a useful one too, as Iain Percy and his crew could get important data on the boat they had so little time to test and get acquainted to.
The team could appreciate the work done on the mast, which will be again taken out tonight to solve a minor problem on the jumper.
'Such light air, lesser than seven knots, are certainly not the best for our boat- explained skipper Luca Devoti and principal designer Giovanni Ceccarelli- tonight we will go on working on her fine tuning but we are also thinking about other changes to be made in the next days to improve the performances upwind.'
'And then we hope to see some significant change in the weather system- continued Devoti- we do not ask for much, something around ten knots, normal conditions to race. Our morale is all right, our sailors are used to competing at the highest levels.'
