Offshore Powerboat series launches into Newcastle

The Newcastle Challenge will be contested on the waters of Newcastle Harbour this weekend, as the nations most imposing offshore powerboats roar into Newcastle (NSW) for round three of the 2007 series.
Boats will be on display all day on Saturday 21 April at Lee Wharf in Newcastle, all spectators are encouraged to come along and get an up close and personal view of the impressive offshore race boats.
Testing and practice is scheduled to take place between 3:30pm and 4:30pm in Newcastle Harbour on 21 April.
The Newcastle Challenge Offshore Powerboat Race will kick off at midday on Sunday 22 April around the allocated course in Newcastle Harbour.
Spectators are advised that best viewing points will be at the harbour foreshore between Queens Wharf and the breakwall.

Round One of the ACME Australian Offshore Powerboat Series will be shown on SBS this Sunday 22 April from 12:30pm on the Speedweek program.
Catch all the action from round one in Geelong, the series opener for 2007 as teams give it their all to open their 2007 accounts with success.
All the round one footage will also be shown on Fox Sports Inside Speed program on Wednesday 25 April from 8:00pm.
