Sacred Heart, Dio make semis
by Waikato Times on 29 Mar 2007
Waikato Diocesan and Sacred Heart Girls' College both made it through to today's semifinals of the top girls' eight-oar event at the New Zealand secondary schools rowing championships.
Diocesan won their repechage from strong Christchurch schoolgirl rowing power St Margaret's College in rough conditions in the Aon NZ Maadi Cup Regatta at Lake Karapiro yesterday.
Sacred Heart were third in the same race to also qualify, with the top three in each repechage going through. No times were available due to a malfunction.
Nelson College for Girls, Kings College and Baradene College filled the three qualifying spots from the first repechage, Nelson comfortable winners in 6m 38.27s.
