SeaDream -Yachting in Style

by Christine Silink on 11 Mar 2006
Seadream II in the Med SW
Australians are discovering what Europeans and Americans have known for years – that a great way to celebrate that very special family occasion, is with a group booking aboard a boutique mega-motor-cruiser in 5-star luxury… or to even charter the whole ship to yourself.

And more and more of us are doing just that, with particular emphasis on the waters of the Mediterranean and the Greek Islands.

'Whether you go as a group, or charter the whole ship, you’ll feel like you’re aboard your very own luxury motor-cruiser – or yacht, as the Europeans and Americans call them,' said Christine Silink, Marketing Manager with Mary Rossi Travel that specialises in exquisite cruising for those with a particular interest in food, wine, history, culture and the most sought-after destinations. So this is yachting not cruising then.

'Two vessels that are coming to the fore with Australians seeking these experiences are the Seadream Yacht Club ‘twins’ Seadream I and Seadream II that carry just 110-passengers served by 92-crew, and which this year were jointly-voted the World’s Best Passengers Ships by readers of Conde Nast Traveler magazine.

'Earlier this year, Seadream II was fully-chartered by an Australian business-man who took eighty family and friends with him to celebrate his 50th birthday on Seadream II in the Mediterranean,' Ms Silink said. 'And we’ve a potential 60th birthday aboard one of the Seadream ‘twins’ in 2008, next year an incentive group of 53 on Seadream from Athens to Venice, and others are asking seriously for between a half-dozen and eighteen staterooms to celebrate very special milestone occasions amongst family and friends.

'And not only is all 5-star dining, all onboard drinks, all watersports, a golf simulator, fitness centre, and gratuities included in the price on SeaDream, you’re also assured of a very personally secure environment for your celebrations. And the ports of call are those you want to go to – because when you charter a Seadream yacht, its you who creates the itinerary.'

Seadream Yacht Club with its twin ultra luxury mega-yachts Seadream I and Seadream II were named the 'World’s Best Small Passenger Shipping Line' in the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice Poll for 2006.

The annual poll, now in its 18th year, is considered by industry observers to be the most prestigious in the world and honors the best cruise lines, cities, islands, hotels, resorts, airlines and car rental agencies. More than 30,000 subscribers responded to this year’s survey.

In this poll, Seadream also received the highest score overall for operators of either small or large vessels and was the only passenger shipping company included in the publication’s listing of the 100 Best-of-the-Best travel experiences---in other words, the best seagoing vacation product in the world regardless of size.

For more details about family group or charter bookings on Seadream I or II, phone Mary Rossi Travel on 1800 815 067 or in Sydney (02) 9957 4511.
