The Dinghy Sailing Show, held at London's Alexandra Palace, is the UK's premier dinghy exhibition. The show was held over the weekend of the 3 and 4 March 2007.

Event organiser Jenny Curry said 'We are thrilled that this year has been another very successful show. Thanks to all our dedicated exhibitors, top names from the world of sailing, who have taken time out of their busy schedules to support us, and the team of organisers, the show continues to attract new and experienced sailors of all ages.'

The show was opened by Dame Ellen MacArthur and top Olympic sailors and campaigners Simon Hiscocks, Chris Draper, Joe Glanfield, Saskia Clark and Paul Goodison were present to launch the Skandia Team GBR Sail for Gold Yearbook, available from this weekend.

Nic Cross was presented with the RYA’s most prestigious training award, RYA Instructor/Coach of the year, at the show this weekend. Nic was one of 11 exceptional coaches and instructors who were given a training award and nominated for the overall award, for remaining at the top of their coaching/instructing disciplines through out 2006.

Eleven year old Dinghy Sailing Show enthusiast, Liam Pardy and his family, were presented with a brand new RS Tera sailing dinghy after winning the show’s advanced ticket booking competition. RYA Marketing Manager John Bagnall handed over the sparkling new dinghy on the RS stand earlier this morning.

Southampton University Royal Naval Unit is the lucky winners of the Club Safety Boat Package at this year’s show. Tara Lowe entered the competition when visiting the show on Saturday and fiancé Ben Castledine, who is working at the show, was presented with the prize on Sunday after the winner was drawn by show organiser Jenny Curry. The prize consisted of a Rigiflex safety boat, Suzuki 15 hp outboard engine and Mersea trailer.

Hampton Pier Yacht Club were awarded the a Suzuki engine for largest group booking of the show for the second year running, after driving 37 of their members to Alexandra Palace in a specially hired bus. The club managed a winning booking of 34 last year and had no trouble rounding up an extra 3 this time round.
