Windcraft, importers of luxury German built Hanse yachts showed off a brand new 470e at last weekend’s Sail Expo.

It’s been an extremely busy last seven months for Windcraft who have taken 38 orders for Hanse yachts over this time.

The first Hanse 470e only arrived in Australia last week. It’s the only current example of its type in the country. The yacht has been receiving a great deal of attention at its berth in Bayview Marina. This has led to two confirmed orders and Damien Goff was finalising more from the Sail Expo.

Sail-world spoke to Windcraft’s Damien Goff about the Hanse 470e.

‘The unique lines from the outside and stunning teak decks with flush hatches separates her from what is currently available for the new yacht owner on the market.’

The yacht has distinctive clean, modern lines with a low coach house. The lines are all captive under a teak deck. The flush hatches and covered lines mean that deck space is maximized.

‘With super yacht styling and super yacht features in a production boat, the new 470e will once again lead yacht manufacturers into new territories.’

'Below deck our German design team has optimized the interior to reflect style and comfort that would only be found in the most impressive architecturally designed homes.’

The interior features substantial Corian bench tops for the galley and the head, island beds with lifting bed boxes, and settees with retractable leg rests. The styling is a unique combination of exterior minimalism and interior luxury.

‘This new model from Germany is part of the companies 'Elite Class of Yachts' which incorporates the 470e, 540e and the largest production yacht yet built in Europe the 630e.’

‘The 470e is based on the 461 which was awarded the most innovative yacht of the year in 2005.’

The win was part of the prestigious European Yacht of the Year awards.
