Delphia makes a splash!

by Sandman Communications on 21 Feb 2007
Delphia Yachts making a splash SW
Polish boatbuilder Delphia Yachts is making a big splash in Australia, with exclusive southern-states agent Aussie Boat Sales selling yachts as soon as they arrive in the country.

Coveted by cruising and racing sailors, as well as charter companies in the Mediterranean, Delphia builds its yachts to CE category A and/or B for serious offshore work, using solid GRP below the waterline and with foam-cored sides and deck for insulation.

The six-yacht Delphia range starts at 24ft and ends with a 40ft flagship – the latter, with its new optional two-cabin layout, set to make its debut at the Club Marine Sail Boat Show in Melbourne, 23-25 March 2007.

With two big staterooms, the two-cabin D40 is perfect for cruising away with another couple or family and boasts water and fuel capacities for extended onboard stays. There’s a high-volume fridge, optional freezer, chic Corian counters and large U-shaped saloon lounge that converts to an extra bed.

The D40 has more than 2m of headroom in the saloon and a massive aft storage locker or workshop area, plus twin gas bottle locker, teak-laid swim platform and a big cockpit with self-tailing winches for the furling genoa and fully-battened mainsail. All fittings are first-class, with brands such as Lewmar, Goiot, Selden, Raymarine and Jaffa. A choice of Volvo or Yanmar engines is also offered.

Among other Delphia models on display will be the great-value D29 – a spacious two-cabin, fixed-keel cruiser/racer with 2.96m beam, headroom of at least 1.75m throughout and stunning mahogany joinery. Easily sailed with a furling jib and fully-battened mainsail with lazy jacks, the D29 boasts plenty of comforts from pressurised hot/cold water to a fully-equipped galley and large cockpit with teak-laid swim platform.

The brand new 24 Sports trailerable model is also certain to attract plenty of attention. With high-performance match racing in mind, Delphia has pulled out all stops to put together a truly quick ‘maximum-excitement’ vessel.

Teaming European styling with time-proven build quality designed to handle the harsh oceans of the world, Delphia Yachts will continue to find favour in Australian marinas.
