Sail TV is to be the exclusive marine content provider controlling regular prime time slots on a new satellite channel on SKY - look in the electronic programme guide for Solent TV from Monday 15 January.

The 24-hour internet-based marine sports and lifestyle channel SAIL TV is celebrating its 1st birthday at the Collins Stewart London Boat Show and working with National Boat Shows to bring the new-look Show to life - and in all its glory - to a global audience through Broadband TV or IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) as it is known.

Regular features and newsworthy items are being filmed during the Show and are available on the Player at www.sail.tv . The channel is also showing on plasma screens at prime locations throughout the Show at ExCeL.

From Monday 15 January, Sail TV (headquartered in Fareham, Hampshire, UK) is the exclusive provider of marine content and the host of regular prime time slots on Solent TV’s new satellite channel on SKY (available UK nationwide), providing 10 hours of sailing, powerboat and marine lifestyle programming at peak evening times during the week, on Saturday mornings and on Sunday evenings.

Solent TV has not been allocated the EPG (electronic programme guide) number yet and this will not be disclosed until the day of the launch.

Sail TV’s Director, Andy Steward, says:

'For Sail TV to have secured these broadcast times on UK television is terrific news for the domestic marine market and we are keen to capitalise on this by providing as much varied, high quality content as we can.'

Sail TV is also delighted to be working in association with producers and content providers such as APP Broadcast, Sportshows Television and TWI to consolidate the highest quality programming available on one channel at regular times.

Some highlights in the schedule of coverage on Sail.TV in 2007

During 2007 Sail TV will bring viewers exclusive coverage of the World Match Racing Tour and the ISAF World Championships as well as some unique insights into the America’s Cup in Valencia and introducing more powerboating and cruising features into the schedule and video on demand service.
