At the closing party of the very successful 20th Phuket Kings Cup last night, Raimon Land CEO Mr. Nigel Cornick announced that the company was extending its sponsorship until 2012.

'As the main sponsor of the Regatta, we are proud to be once again involved in this year’s event, which will be certainly very special because of the 60th anniversary of His Majesty’s accession to the throne coinciding with the 20th edition of the race created under his Patronage. We are pleased to announce that we have now extended that sponsorship forward until 2012' said Mr. Cornick.

Almost since the beginning, Raimon Land has been a leading sponsor of this international event, which earlier this year was voted 'Yachting Event of the Year' at the Christofle Asia Boating Award in Singapore.

Raimon Land Director of Marketing Mr. Henri Young said: 'Raimon Land has made a strong commitment to the yachting and sailing scene in Thailand. We feel that the Phuket Race Week, and other events such as the Top of the Gulf Regatta and the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta, are in line with our lifestyle developments strategy and we look forward to another week of sailing action in Phuket’s crystal-clear waters.'

Few real estate companies in Thailand enjoy the success of publicly-listed Raimon Land. The company has positioned itself as the developer of choice for buyers and investors who seek the best in lifestyle developments. From Bangkok and Pattaya to Phuket the company has project in all the most sought-after areas. One aspect that separates Raimon Land from its competitors, however, is the company’s clear commitment to lifestyle events and sport sponsorship.

Raimon Land has already acquired naming rights to the 2007 Bangkok International Rugby Tens to be held February 17-18, 2007. In September, Raimon Land sponsored the Nepal Tiger Tops team in the King’s Cup Elephant Polo hosted at The Anantara Resort in the Golden Triangle.

In addition, the developer has also provided its support to both the King Power Raceboard World Championship and of the AOT Kona Windsurfing World Championship held in Pattaya Nov. 18-25 and Nov.28-Dec.03, respectively, at the Northpoint site, Raimon Land’s latest luxury development on Wong Amat beach, Pattaya’s most prized beachfront.

Raimon Land CEO Mr. Nigel Cornick commented: 'Both events are part of the expanding Thai marine leisure industry, a sector that goes hand in hand with a lifestyle developer like Raimon Land. As an extension of our involvement in yachting, these two world championships series introduced us to active communities who appreciate the ideal climate conditions and environment that Pattaya and Northpoint have to offer.'
