Sail-World brings Broadband TV to its sailing audience, affiliating with the new IPTV channel, Sail.tv

Sail-World.com established in 2000, is the largest online sailing news network in the world. Half a million racing and cruising sailors will visit Sail-World in 2006 and now this audience will be able to watch sailing programs and live events on Broadband IPTV.

The first program Sail-World will deliver via Sail.TV is the 2006 Monsoon Cup from Terengganu Malaysia. http://www.sail-world.com/monsooncup.cfm

Sail TV is the first 24-hour broadband IPTV channel dedicated to sailing and water sports and targets a growing international audience of discerning sailing enthusiasts.

With up-to-date coverage of events, news, reviews and sailing features Sail TV will shortly to launch a series of 'sub-channels' consolidating high quality content from around the world and covering all aspects of the industry - Premier Regattas, Offshore Challenge, Cruising Lifestyle, Power, Extreme Craft, etc.

Sail-World Managing Editor Rob Kothe said today, 'As broadband speeds continue to rise, the online audience will be able to watch programs which until now have only been available on cable TV and often at odd hours of day or night.

'Unlike traditonal television networks, IPTV measures the exact number of viewers that watch each programme or advertising slot, the length of time they watch for and from which territories they access the channel providing valuable and accurate feedback.

'As well as offering an additional distribution outlet to broadcasters through the Sail TV schedule, the IPTV medium also allows viewers to watch selected programming on demand.'

Sail-World now has regional sites around the world, with Sail-World UK-Europe, Sail-World Asia, Sail-World NZ, Sail-World USA, Sail-World Australia, Sail-World World Cruising and Sail-World Australian Cruising and these sites will each take broadband TV content.
