Douce France the world’s largest sailing catamaran is currently at New Zealand Yachts in Whangarei for a major refit.
New Zealand Yachts was chosen because of their expertise and capability in large multihull sailing and motor yachts. She is due for completion in mid April 2007.
She is 42 meters by 17 meters but will soon lose her world’s largest title to Gemini, the 145’ luxury catamaran which is currently under construction in the USA (launch 2008).
Douce France is on a world tour which started two years ago in Europe. She will spend 2007 in the Pacific and will be heading to the Indian Ocean early 2008 where she will continue to explore and charter.
