Sydney 32's set for Savills

This weekends Savills regatta at MHYC will be the third time the Sydney 32 One designs have participated in this event and will serve as their warm up ahead of their national championships as part of the Rolex One Design
regatta in December.

Offshore One Design racing is proving incredibly popular in Australia at the moment, across a number of size and price ranges. The Sydney 32 is a very close relative of the popular Sydney 38 and has a growing fleet in excess of
26 yachts across NSW, VIC and SA. At the Savills there are three OD fleets with the 32's and Farr 40's both of similar sizes.

It is a tough fleet to pick a winner out of as the racing has typically been so close. Groove, steered by Hugh Torode from the RSYS will be one to watch as a surprise package as Hugh is relatively new to the Class. Stalwarts
Stuart Muirhead (Quickie, RSYS) and John Groves (Reality, RPAYC) are also always in the points. However the offshore conditions are tough to steer in and Veteran Ray Stone (Razors Edge, CYCA) has the experience in the Manly
Circle to make a showing.

Angus Grinham's Gusto (MHYC) is the sole 'local' boat and will be looking to keep the Silverware at the MHYC. He, alongside Class patrons Sydney Yachts, will be hosting a dock party at the MHYC after racing today for all Class
Crew.

With a brilliant days sailing forecast, doubtless they will have much to talk about over a few cleansing libations.
