Wanganui couple, Roy and Diane Eaton, are looking forward to sailing in the Sounds in their new Bavaria 39, Gwen Roy.
Launched Thursday in the Viaduct Harbour Marine Village she’s been named after Roy’s parents who were a big part of making it happen
She’s the second Bavaria 39 to be launched in NZ and the first Bavaria to be based in Nelson.
It’s a big step for them as their previous boat was a 20ft trailer sailor that they sailed on the river at Wanganui, even taking her to the Sounds for a ten day holiday. They plan to enjoy their new Bavaria in the North Island over the summer before heading south to Nelson in the autumn.
