Unai Basurko out of Velux 5 Oceans again

Currently due north of La Coruna, Unai Basurko made a satellite call to the race organisation this morning and although the thirty-three year-old Basque skipper was in high spirits, he reported automatic pilot problems on board his Open 60, Pakea.

He is now heading to Vigo, where he is scheduled to arrive by tomorrow.

Stopping a second time to repair before he carries on in leg 1 of the VELUX 5 OCEANS, Unai will have to take another 48 hour penalty imposed on skippers who stop to make repairs. Apart from this, Unai was in great form and very happy with his boat.
