Skud 18 European Championship - Day 1

The new Skud 18 paralympic class has completed day one of their first European Championship being held as part of the Sail for Gold Regatta at Weymouth.

The Skud championship started Thursday, a day ahead of the olympic classes regatta, and will complete four days of racing - 12 to 15 October.

Gustaf Fresk and Annika Lindgren of Sweden lead, winning two of the three races completed. Britain's Allan Smith and Jackie Gay won race two and are in second place overall.

Racing will start today for the qualifying races for the other olympic classes taking part in the first Sail for Gold Regatta - 13 to 15 October. The entry numbers now stand at over 280 boats from 20 Nations.
