Graduating students with course lecturers and coordinators - BIA NSW Marine Brokers accreditation Boating Industry Association of New South Wales http://www.bia.org.au
The first NSW marine brokers have graduated from the inaugural Boating Industry Association of NSW accreditation course.

Ten brokers graduated recently with a further five due to complete their studies and graduate shortly.

The ten successful students are David Bray (David Bray Yachts, Drummoyne),
Richard Conibear (Sydney Sail and Motor Boat Centre, Bayview), Ashley Swinfield (Mainsales Marine Brokerage, Brooklyn), Des Last (Sydney Boat Sales, Drummoyne), Norman Ambrose (Catalina Anchorage, Mosman), David Hewitt (Broken Bay Boat Sales, Newport), Bob Young (Riviera Sales, Pittwater, Newport), Shane Cruickshanks (Vicsail Pittwater), Michael Jarvin (Riviera Sales - Sydney, Rushcutters Bay) and James Mark Anthony (Pathfinder Marine, Mosman).

The primary objective of the course is to enhance the service offered to clients with an all-round improvement in business practices.

To undertake the course, prospective brokers had to be members of the BIA of
NSW, hold a current NSW Second-Hand Dealer's licence and operate a business
from a waterfront location.

They also had to agree to abide by the Marine Brokers Association by-laws and to attend on-going educational and information courses.

The accreditation course was separated into seven distinct modules;
Managing your marine brokerage business; managing occupational health and
safety; marketing a marine brokerage; managing customer relations; the sales
process; the environment and managing people.

For further information relating to the next scheduled course, due to commence early in 2007, contact the BIA of NSW, telephone (02) 9438-2077.
