Wireless Wind Information

The system is solar powered, is wireless and has no cables at all, - it gives 300 hours of autonomy, it weighs only 230grams (about half a pound), and can be calibrated from the display.

It is the T120 Micronet Wind Transmitter from Tack Tick, and, like the normal cabled version, it measures Wind Speed and Direction. It sends data to any Micronet display via wireless link. It can be fitted, with a simple three-screw attachment, with the mast in place. It also makes un-stepping the mast easy too.

Measuring both wind speed and direction, the Micronet Wind Transmitter has numerous advantages over traditional systems. Being wireless and solar powered means there’s no need to drill holes or run cabling to install either the transmitter or display. Not only can you forget about engaging an electrical engineer - you can install it yourself in a matter of minutes - there are no vulnerable connections. Damage due to pounding seas, vibration or accidental wrenching of cables is a thing of the past.

Tacktick technology has been developed largely in racing scenarios and is consequently extremely robust and all instrumentation is waterproof to 10m.

The highly responsive transmitter sends data to any on board Tacktick display. Analogue displays (available in white, grey or carbon black) can be mounted anywhere from the flybridge to the cockpit… or even carried in your pocket!

Spare parts are available – the TA100 Wind Vane Service Kit and the TA101 Wind Anemometer Service Kit. There’s also a T220 Micronet Vertical Wind Transmitter, and the T221 Mast Rotation Transmitter.
