Day 3 Hahn Premium RW

Performance Handicap class,Premier Cruising, Cruising and Non-spinnaker fleets results for Day 3, Hahn Premium Hamilton Island Race Week.

After a delay due to lack of breeze, the Performance Handicap class started the first of their windward leewards, Race 1 on Day 3 of the 23rd annual Hahn Premium Hamilton Island Race Week.

Rumbo, the Mumm 30 of Guy and Clark Holbert added a first to her previous handicap placings of 2 and 4.

Longitude 11, the modified Elliot 11 of Timothy Long, gained her first top three handicap placing of this regatta, finishing in second spot.

Geoff Lavis' UBS Wild Thing, who battled with the Sydney 38 Limit of Alan Brierty on the finish line, came in third on handicap.

In Race 2 it was the same place getters, in the same order. Rumbo again won over Longitude 11, with UBS Wild Thing third.

On Overall Handicap the placings are Rumbo from UBS Wild Thing with Longitude 11 and Without Fear, John Moore's Swarbrick 10.2 from Western Australia equal third.

The Premier Cruising, Cruising and Non-spinnaker fleets sailed the 20 nautical mile Pine Island Race, shortened by the Race Committee at Pine Island.

Balance, the Sydney 47CR of Paul Clitheroe took today's handicap honours, with Free Spirit, the Jeanneau SF of Stephen Girdis second. Lady Godiva, David Currie's Swan 60 finished third.

On Overall Handicap, it is Balance just ahead from fellow Sydney 47CR Wot's Next, with Eagle Rock, the Beneteau 47.7 of Ross Wilson in third.

In the IRC Cruising Class, the Northshore 370 Gusto, of Colin Wells and Ian burns had a win, with Amity, the Jarkan 39 of Ian Griffiths getting her first top three placing in this regatta. Greater Springfield, the Sydney 36 of Luke McGrath continued her good form to grab third on handicap.

Overall on Handicap, Greater Springfield maintains her lead, with Honeysuckle, the Beneteau of Ray Harris in second and Mr Beaks Ribs, another Beneteau 44.7 owned and skipperd by David Beak, in third.

In Cruising - Red - Marisa (Morgan - Reaburn Reynolds) finished first on handicap, with Hans-on (Hanse 370E - Col Thomas & Nick Cox) in second and the Townsville based Sundowner (Van de Stadt 50' - Bill Webb) in third.

Overall on Handicap, Magellan, Dick Knoops Knoop 11 is tied with Roger Down's Farr 11.6m True Love for first, with Bill Webb's Sundowner in third.

In Cruising - White - L'attitude (John Barter's Dehler 41) was first, with Sunshine Coast Sailing (Jeannean S/F 37 skippered by John Bankart) second and Baltic (Dennis Lever's Bavaria 38) in third.

Overall L'attitude leads, from Sunshine Coast Sailing and Ragtop (modified Northshore 38, Dudley Jacobs).

In Cruising - Blue - Nessie, William McMillan's Sonata 8, finished in the major spot, with Doug Ryan's Farr 1104 Magic, in second. The Joker, Grant Chipperfield's Clubman 8, was third.

On Overall Handicap, Magic leads, from Nessie and Ingenue (Rosie Colahan's Jeanneau SO 40).

The Cruising Non Spinnaker fleet's Tuesday race was abanndoned.
