Crewsaver 60th Firefly National Championships

Steve Tylecote and Sally Wilson sailing 'Growler' from Spinnaker Club in Hampshire have won the Crewsaver 60th Firefly National Championships held this week at South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club, Abersoch.

Two races were held on the final day all Tylecote and Wilson needed to do was get one results below 12th. Depsite being buried at the start of todays first race, for the Tomato Boats trophy, they fought their way back up to third at the finish to finish the week with an amazing scoreline of four firsts and two thirds.

Whilst Tylecote and Wilson sailed back to the beach to start celebrating, the rest of the fleet completed one more race, for the Avon Bailer Trophy, to sort out the remaining positions. Despite a late challenge from Shaun Barber and Leslie Ryan from Hamble River SC in 'Bloodhound', Stuart Hudson and Lisa Keenan sailing 'Fursty Ferret', from the Spinnaker Club in Hampshire, held onto second overall with Barber and Ryan finshing third in the weeks points series.
