by Rob Kothe on 4 Aug 2006
Monaco - Aquapro RFD Marine Safety Equipment http://www.rfd.com.au/
When Paul Goddard, founding director of Aquapro NZL, merged his sixteen year old company with international marine company RFD in 2005, it was a natural marriage for the fast expanding New Zealand company.

Now this week in Sydney’s International Boat Show, several of the Aquapro products will be on display on the RFD stand, and the new products are especially worth a visit:

MONACO:
The new Monaco 421 features an all fibreglass hull with lightweight fibreglass interior, Hypalon fabric with 10 year guarantee and loads of style. The Monaco has been designed to be equally at home as a high performance tender or fun machine.

The Monaco Deluxe range has been designed as the best yacht tender available in the world, with fully fitted seating and upholstery, large volume interior, loads of storage, and a stylish clean design to enhance the look of your yacht. The Monaco series is constructed from lightweight marine grade aluminium hulls, fibreglass composite interior complete with davit lifting points and transom towing points.

The boats are true performers with deep V hull designs, and feature a 21 degree dead rise aft and 26 degree forward. The deck is finished in white gell coat with optional flexi teak non skid surface. The Monaco range is available in either Hypalon or polymar fabric options.

*The Monaco range is designed specifically for high horsepower outboards with
Electric start and power tilt/trim.

The Monaco Deluxe series is a true high performance yacht tender. We have extended the waterline to give maximum planing length and the shot below shows the 341 fitted with a 40hp pulling 35 knots and loving it!

RAIDER:
The new Raider 640 has arrived and will also be displayed at this years show. The Raider is an all new model that features an all fibreglass hull, multiple console options and is the perfect boat for both work and pleasure.

Aaron Noyes, spokesman for Aquapro, talks about their recent developments:
'Just prior to the 2005 merger, in December '04, the decision was made to move to New Zealand design and and move the production offshore to China. In todays’s competitive environment, that is really just following World standard.

'Our first boats from China will arrive around May - the first boats started arriving in New Zealand in 2005.'

Aaron describes how Paul Goddard starting manufacturing in Auckland NZ as a sail maker. Then he expanded and moved forward into boat building. He explains how they originally started off with small roll-up tenders, and very small tenders and then progressed over the years as the company grew in strength and reputation and with financial backing they moved into larger RIBS.

These days, Aquapro is one of the brands belonging to RFD. RFD is a strong group of companies with a focus on commercial marine and safety, commercial safety for the marine and aerospace industry. Their headquarters, their principal is Survitech, out of Ireland. They are a worldwide-recognised brand in the commercial marine industry, something that consumers can depend on.
