45ft Express Cruiser launched!

Hull number one of what promises to be a long running production series hit the water on Queensland’s Gold Coast in mid- May. The Florida based owner was in
attendance for final detailing and preliminary sea trials which will be carried out till mid June with a shipping date scheduled for later this month.

This is a unique vessel in all respects from her long range fuel sipping capabilities to an interior that has to be experienced to be believed. Worth a second look.
Plans are for a US launch at the Ft. Lauderdale Show in October. Hope to see you there!

Around Alone Race 2002 officially announced

Our brave clients who have already commissioned designs for this event were quietly relieved to receive formal announcement that the rights to the event have been
purchased by Robin Knox - Johnstone, and his organisation, Clipper Ventures. CV has assumed the role of event organiser and it is anticipated that the race will now
commence in Europe and most likely Plymouth, England. Along with this is an up and running website (www.aroundalone.com) with everything you need to know
including the race rules.

On our side the Class II design for Alan Paris of Bermuda is on schedule for an August launch and has generated a lot of interest. Etranger (ex True Blue) continues
to burn up the West Coast racing scene with the next major training event the Two Handed Transpac in August.

Ramtech 55 launching this month

Steve Petersen’s 55 ft fast sailing cat is due to launch this month after a long careful build period interspersed with lots of other projects at Petersen’s busy northern
NSW yard. This is going to be a super craft for tropical reef cruising and surf exploration and it is also a great capability study for the yard. We look forward to seeing
her lift a hull!

Around The Yards

SAILAUS : Kay Cottee’s Maclean based boatbuilding company is well down the track on their 56 foot fast cruiser. This is a semi production design with a beautiful
fully moulded deck Kay wants hull number 1 for herself but the way the brokers are sniffing around she may get talked out of it.

RAMTECH BOATBUILDERS (formally Petford and Petersen) : Aside from the above mentioned 55 sailcat Ramtech are making good progress on their 58
enclosed flybridge power catamaran to our design. Most of the work is on structure at this stage and careful work and weighing has everything coming in under
design targets.

SCEPTRE YACHTS : A new builder for us but one with quite a reputation in North America. The Vancouver based firm was commissioned and has begun work on
our 56 foot Aerorig pilot house design for a local client. All the frames and buttocks were e-mailed by us to a local laser cutting firm and, in a matter of days, the form
has taken shape. For more information contact Jeff or Heather via their web site sceptreyachts.com.
