by Sail-World/GJN on 19 Jun 2006
Mike Hart and Tim Hall from Port Dinorwic SC pulled through in the final two races to take the Flying Fifteen National Championship, held at the South Caernarvonshire YC.

Hart and Hall, in third place overnight, won the first race of the day ahead of Steve Goacher and Phil Evans, Royal Windermere. Overnight leader Charles Apthorp and Alan Green, Hayling Island SC, finished third.

In the final race of the championship Peter and Sue Bannister, Hayling Island SC, came good to take the gun with Simon Kneller and Dave Lucas, Grafham Water SC, second and Goacher and Evans third.

Meanwhile Hart and Hall finished in fourth, a comfortable four places ahead of Apthorp and Green, to take the title. Apthorp and Green were second overall and David McKee and Chris Hewkin, Dovestone SC, third.

Winners of the Classic Fleet title were Andrew and Emily McKee, from Dovestone SC, with a very comfortable win in FF759. Second were Keith Jamieson and Maf Smith, Bassenthwaite SC.

Jeremy Arnold and David Brown from Middle Nene SC won both the final days races but had to be content with fourth, third overall going to George and Martin Rock-Evans, Royal Torbay YC.
