The South Pacific Boomerang is set to launch, the Melbourne to Vanuatu race starts on July 4th. Jenny McGuigan from the ORCV updates us on the offshore training program. Kiwi sailors can join the second leg from Port Vila to Mackay on August 1st; it’s an 1150 mile feeder race for the Airlie Beach Race Week and Hahn Premium Hamilton Island Race Week. As some sailors predicted the Clipper Ventures schedule is being disrupted by storms as the hurricane season approaches. Leg 8 has just been shortened to allow skippers to take avoiding action around a tropical storm.
