United Internet Team Germany races Italian teams

by Oliver Laskowsky on 16 May 2006
The day of the final judgement at Louis Vuitton Act 10 in Valencia has come: In its last two races United Internet Team Germany wants to win once at least. The opponents on this sixth day are the teams +39 Challenge and Masaclzone Latino Capitalia Team from Italy.

Especially against +39 Challenge which just has one victory Skipper Jesper Bank sees the chance to win: 'If we have good start again it sould be possible to win.' With a success over +39 the German team could gain the ninth place in the ranking. If Mascalzone Latino Capitalia Team doesn't win its first race, in the second race it would come to the duel for place eight against this team.

Regarding the problematic wind conditions of the last days, there still is the possibility that races might be postponed to the following reserve day. The weather forecast sounds similar to the day before: At 24 degrees the easterly winds of six to eight knots will increase to ten to twelve knots in the afternoon. The races of the German team are scheduled at 2 p.m. and 4.30 p.m.

On the sixth day the German yacht GER 72 sails with the following crew:

Skipper: Jesper Bank (DEN)
Tactician: Henrik Blakskjær (DEN)
Navigator: Philippe Mourniac (FRA)
Strategist: Michael Hestbæk (DEN)
Bow: Jean-Marie Dauris (FRA)
Mid Bow: Nico Jeschonnek (GER)
Mast: Gerrit Bottemöller (GER)
Pit: Jan Schoepe (GER)
Floater: Michael Müller (GER)
Grinder: Dominik Neidhart (SUI), Henrik Norberg (NOR), Henning Sohn (GER), Fredrik Green (SWE)
Trimmer: Mike Mottl (AUS), Conan Hunt (NZL), Matti Paschen (GER), Thomas Jacobsen (DEN)
