At 1410 local time (0710 GMT) in the heat and humidity of Hong Kong, B&Q and her crew waved goodbye to wellwishers on the dockside at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club.
Speaking from the dockside before departure Ellen commented, 'We have been made to feel so welcome here in Hong Kong and especially at the club, the team have really found a home away from home and we would like to thank everyone for their wamth and hospitality'.
Due to light and shifty conditions B&Q has been forced to cancel their attempt on the round Hong Kong record today. The crew will now head to the start line to begin Leg 7 from Hong Kong to Sanya. Whilst current forecasts suggest light and shifty southeasterly conditions, they are expected to build later on Sunday for the start of leg 7.
