Hi Guys......
Friday afternoon ahead of an upcoming long weekend, and so thought I,d pass on some info that is ready to go,and follow on with the rest as it comes in.
I have only one working day next week ( Tue) before flying out to Oz Wed for the Qld States...hoping the NOR and Air fares, contacts will come in later today, but for the moment ,we are ready to roll on Accom bookings ,for those who wish to get organized....
The venue Hotel is the 'Pearl of the Pacific '
www.thepearlsouthpacific.com
....Res is stay@thepearlsouthpacific.com
This year,to save confusion,we have decided to advise you to book directly with them,so you will be able to ask all the questions you need and get clear answers, and confirmation of bookings etc.
As you will see from their website, this is a fairly reasonable hotel, right on the beach that we will race off.....Big swimming pool and family stuff OK....
Have to advise that whilst the Hotel is nice, the beach and the general area is windy...( That's why we are there ) usually 10---18knots....rarely more than that, and semi sheltered by reef,so expect about 0.5 m slop most of the time, and no swell......as noted previously, this was the venue of the 1985 Hobie Worlds.
Most people therefore hang around the seaside pool and bar.
We have an agreement in place with the Hotel now for the period of the regatta, including the period before and after.
When you contact them, quote 'The August Hobie Regatta ' and the agreed rates are as follows.......
Daily room rate ( two persons) F$ 120 ( approx $ NZ same..AUD 100 ,....USD 70 )...this discounted from normal rate of F$ 200.
This includes breakfast.
There will be an additional charge for extra persons in a room of about $20 per person ( as in a family room or young guys who don,t need sleep,
)
This hotel is about 30 mins from Suva by cab or mini bus,and 2 hours from Nadi international Airport by cab or minibus if a group
Taxi fare Suva / Pac Harb approx F$ 40 and Nadi Pac Harb about F$ 120......
NOTE** Those contemplating whether to fly into Suva or Nadi,be aware that the Suva Airport ( Nausori ) is 30 mins from Suva,so Nausori Pac Harb is one hour ( approx F$70 )
The Hotel is ready to accept bookings,so whenever you like, its over to you.......
If you happen to strike a puzzled response initially refer, them to the conversation between the GM Emilio and myself....If you are contacting them by email, refer to the agreement Emilio / Southwick.
Any questions ,lets have them.......
Late Friday now, and Air Pacific just called......Fares and contacts coming thru now,and I will get them to you with NOR Tue...
Cheers Grahame
