FIJI SOUTH PACIFIC HOBIE CHAMPS UPDATE FROM FISH

Air Pacific have agreed again to be the main sponsor of the South
Pacific Championships, and have promised they will have for us the
special Hobie air fares out of Melb.Syd,Bne,Akl and LAX.

They will also have the contact person in each of their
offices, ready briefed on the fares and arrangements.

As with last year, all bookings will have to go thru Air Pacific
directly,( via the contacts to be advised ) in order to get the
discounts.

Those wishing to try their luck with their own travel agents,or
alternative carriers, are of course free to do so,if it works for
you.

ENTRIES

FISH says the event web site will be cranked up soon and this
will contain all the info, NOR, and official entry form....so
hopefully,we can start taking official entries really really
soon.......

We are taking unofficial entry notifications at this
time, anyway, to assist with planning,so feel free to notify me if you
think you can make it.

BOATS

The regatta will be run the same as last year ....boat
sharing, and at this time we have about 15 good boats ( 30 teams
),but with the unofficial entries already in,it is certain that
we are going to have more teams than boats,so we will be looking
at trying to bring in boats, under the same conditions as last
year,( FOC,freight and Fiji end dock charges ).

We would appreciate therefore, advice on who may be coming, and who
will be bringing boats.

VENUE

As most of you know,Fiji is in the last stages of finalizing
arrangements for the 2007 Worlds, and the South Pacific
Championships will be sailed on the probable 'Worlds ' course..(
To be advised ). This will be a great chance to test out the 2007
Worlds course.

SCREAMING REACH

Time permitting,we are hoping to introduce a post regatta '
Screaming Reach '......this would be for a cash prize
$1000,.....12nm each way,across a lagoon,flat water, expecting
12----18 knot winds.

Will advise website details, later in the week.

Cheers Fish
