FROM HUGH BOSS - 1300nms to Ushuaia
We are getting a right hidding now! The wind is gusting up to 50ish (we guess as we have no instruments) and the waves are huge! Our little rig is holding together nicely and with just storm jib are beam reaching at 9-10kts. Uncomfortabe but at least we are getting somewhere!! Glad we got the jury rig up we would have been likely to have been rolled with no steerage. This is the southern ocean as I thought it would be. We have been blown south a bit further and are now below 55degrees south. Its damn near snowing! We now have 1300nm to go and should be there in under 10 days. We are fine and the boat is fully watertight and actually sailing faster than Bob ever would!
