Kiwis dominate top ten in OK Worlds

Kiwis are well represented in the top ten overall but will now be a long shot for the world title at the 2006 Tohsiba OK Worlds Lynne Burton
In a change to the scheduled strong breezes for the day, race 5 was actually held winds below 15 knots. This led to a different group of people at the front.
Leading kiwi in race 7 was Alistair Deaves who finished 3rd followed by David Hoogenboom in 5th and Greg Wilcox. 6th.
The wind increased for race 6 to around 15 knots for race 7. current World Champion Nick Craig sailed a perfect race to win his first race of the regatta and take the overall lead. Best kiwi was Russell Wood in third place and Ade Mannering in8th.
Overall, while Purdie had a bad day he still hangs on to the bronze medal position, with Wilcox not far back in fourth. Two more races tomorrow will settle the event, and with more light winds predicted there could be a few upsets.
